Casual & Comfy!
Let's face it, looking good can sometimes be uncomfortable. While 5 inch pumps look great, every woman knows after an hour or two in those things and we're ready to collapse. Not all beauty has to come with pain. These looks are not only fashionable, but best of all they are comfy and causal!

Wine Tasting Night!
Our first wine tasting night was a huge success! In fact, wine was the very thing that inspired the idea to start doing a wine tasting night with all of my favorite ladies. A few weeks ago my mom, best friend and I were drinking a few glasses of wine (we earned it after a long week.) My mom started telling us about a wine night she used to do with her friends. Thanks to her story and the buzz we had going from our wine... Wa lah! a wine tasting event was born just like that. Here's how we did it...
• Invite a small group of your favorite wine drinking friends to join in the wine tasting (10-15 is a good number)
•Ask each attendee to bring a bottle of wine to share for the wine tasting ( red or white.)
•We also made our event a pot luck where each ladie brought an appetizer and/or dessert of their choice.
• My mom and I bought 3 large bottles of wine that were specifically for before the actual wine tasting (Chardonnay, Shiraz and Pinot Grigio.) This of course, got our juices flowing and paired nicely with all the food that was brought.
•After mingling and eating we went into the room where the actual tasting would take place.
•Each lady was given a wine score card and was instructed to score from 1-10 each wine on several categories (appearance, smell, body, taste, etc.)
•My mom and I then began with the first red wine. We introduced the wine and poured a tasting for each lady to taste in small plastic cups we bought.
•After serving each lady they began scoring. Each wine had it's own reaction with the crowd.
•We went through the 7 red wines and then totaled up the score. Our winner for the reds was Liberty School.
•At this time we took a short break to grab some more food and cleans our palettes; while we still had 5 white wines to taste.
•After the intermission we continued the wine tasting with the white wines. A Chardonnay La Cote Blanc was the crowd favorite.
•Once all the wines were tasted we allowed everyone to fill up a real glass with the wine of their choice.
•Everyone raved about the tasting and we plan on having another one after the Holidays!!!
Here are some pictures from the Event:

Fall in Love with This Look
Gotta love an outfit that's both cute and comfortable! This look is just that. The boyfriend Yoga Jeans are stretchy yet thick to keep me warm on a chilly fall afternoon. The loose thermal shirt and army green vest go perfectly with a plaid scarf. Tie the look together with combat boots and a necklace and you've got yourself a causal outfit with a dash of sassy. Battle the cold while looking fierce!
Outfit of the Day
Brrr, it was cold outside today; but it didn't stop me from snapping a few pictures! Who would have thought a maxi dress could be such a good look in the fall? This ombré maxi dress is perfect for virtually any season. I just paired it with a charcoal oversized infinity scarf, black leather jacket and nude booties to turn this dress into a chic fall outfit!

Start Your Day off Right
First and foremost, HAPPY FRIDAY! It's a wonderful day to start your morning off the right way; with a healthy fruit smoothie. Today, I made a classic peanut butter and banana smoothie (yes, I still use Gwen's song to remember how to spell... "B-a-na-nas...")
I'm usually not much of a breakfast person but apparently it's the "most important meal of the day," so recently I have been trying to come up with meal ideas that I actually enjoy. This smoothie consists of a few basic ingredients that you can see below. It took me less than 5 minutes to make so it's great for the working girl on the go!
What a great way to get some fruits and protein in before you strut your stuff to the bar tonight (unfortunately, Bloody Mary's and Screw Drivers don't count for your daily count of fruits and veggies.)
Bon Appetite & TGIF,
xx Meg

Fall Favorites!
If you ask me, Fall is the best season of them all. Between the cool crisp air, pumpkin everything and football what more could a girl ask for?
And yes, I am also guilty of loving a warm pumpkin spice latte and lighting pumpkin spice candles throughout the house (just ask my old college roomates.)
Above all else, I love fall fashions. So, I guess you could say I am quite literally Fall obsessed!
Here's one of my favorite fall looks; complete with accessories!

Oasis- Fall Nails
So, I absolutely love getting my nails done and have been to countless nail salons. However, my favorite, by far is Oasis Nail salon located in the Annapolis Mall. The spa like setting brings immediate relaxation to it's customers. Greeted with a smile and water bottle, each customer is pampered from the time they enter to the time they leave. My go to nail technician is Vicky. Her friendly demeanor is matched with her incredible skill. She consistently does amazing work while staying within a timely fashion ( we've got shopping to do, after all.) I highly recommend this nail salon and technician! What better holiday gift than a gift card to Oasis for the lady in your life!
Below are my fall nails I got done today by Vicky( full set acrylic nails, polish color- "Getting Cherried Away" by OPI)

DIY Baby Shower Gift !
Decorative Initial for babies room:
Basically, it only took a few easy steps.
1. Buy wooden letter ( "A" for Ailyn,)your choice of colored paint, glitter if you are into that( I say the more the better,) choice of decorative embellishments and ribbon.
2. Paint wooden letter. I did three coats (let dry between each coat.)
3. Apply glitter while the last coat is still wet.
4. Let dry completely. Then I applied flowers with a glue gun. Arrange however you like.
5. Drill small hole to hang ribbon ( Dad helped with this part.)
*May want to apply clear coat before applying flowers to seal however, I did not do that this time.
This is a great DIY for anywho who considers themself "craft challenged." Believe me, if I can do it so can YOU!
*Great for a baby boys room too just change the colors and embellishments!

Collabing is Fab
The location was Eastport, MD at the fairly new restaurant, Blackwall Hitch. This restaurant has a style that can be described as vintage chic. While the look and feel is impressive, the food is equally as enticing.
The brains behind the idea of the whole collaboration was Charlotte Jarrett, a fabulous and in high demand event planner who is truly a one of a kind. She was responsible for each shots set design. Watching her work is like watching an artist paint a canvas. No detail is too small. Her designs made me feel like I really was at a holiday party, even when its only October. @charlottejarrettevents
Before we started shooting all models had their hair and makeup done by the extremely talented @saraeartistry. Just by looking at the models she had a unique vision for each of us that she made come true with each brush stroke. The self taught makeup and hair artist showed knowledge on makeup and hair that was equal to a true veteran. This lady knows her stuff and made each model feel beautiful and ready to get in front of the camera.
Behind the camera was @radtrav an absolute joy to work with and a true visionary. He made each model feel comfortable while still capturing stunning pictures. He focused on each aspect of the collaboration by emphasizing the clothes, set design, hair/makeup, and restaurant both individually and together.
Various pieces of clothing and jewelery were provided by The Boutique at Body Wellness. Fellow model Olivia and I each wore two outfits from the boutique; both perfect for a Christmas or New Years party.
Check out some behind the scenes pictures from the shoot...
